Event Sponsors

One of the innovations initiated by the "Greece 2021 Committee", aiming to maximize the realization of anniversary events and actions celebrating the 200 years after the Revolution of 1821 in as many areas of Greece as possible, was the concept of ​​the Event Sponsor. Through this new form of sponsorship, companies and individuals were given the opportunity to choose the sponsoring of events based on their geographical or sectoral interest.

This strategy, which responded to the specific market conditions, resulted in greater participation of companies and organizations in the celebration.

In the summer of 2020, the Committee proceeded with a Public Call of Interest to organizations and individuals who wished to undertake the full or partial financing of one or more actions in their area of business or nationwide through Event Sponsorship.

The actions and events proposed to prospective Event Sponsors came from the 1827 proposals for actions and events submitted to the Committee through its dedicated electronic platform. They were chosen to correspond to each Sponsor’s geographical and sectoral area of ​​interest and business activity. These are actions and events which come under the auspices of the “Greece 2021” Committee and are part of the National Programme of Actions and Events for the Bicentennial Celebration.

The call was answered by many individuals and organizations, thus giving the opportunity for very worthy events and actions to take place during the anniversary year in many parts of Greece, with the support of Event Sponsors.
