The "Greece 2021" Committee funded the program "Data for the common good," which will be implemented in collaboration with the HCAP and the "Archimedes" Unit of the Research Center "ATHENA."

A "Greece 2021" Committee delegation, comprising of its President, Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki, and the Executive Board member, Costis Kontogiannis, met at the offices of the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations (the "HCAP" as it is more commonly known) with the CEO, Grigoris Dimitriadis, and the Deputy CEO, Stefanos Giourelis. Present was also the Director of the "Archimedes" Unit (created with the support of the "Greece 2021" Committee at the Research Center "ATHENA," on Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Algorithms), Timos Selis, and the scientific coordinators, Professors Constantinos Daskalakis and Christos Papadimitriou. The meeting's purpose was to sign the agreement for financing by the Committee on Actions, assigned by the HCAP to the "Archimedes" Unit.

Actions include:

• Utilizing the "Big Data" available to the companies supervised by the "HCAP" for the development of personalized services and protecting citizens from misusing them
• Digital applications for people with disabilities to ensure accessibility to the metropolitan transport system
• Analysis of traffic behavior aiming to limit fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions
• Evaluation of the procedures followed by ELTA aiming to improve the distribution of letters and parcels

"We finance the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations in order to give the green light so that "Archimedes" can explore and use the huge data possessed by the companies under its supervision. The goal is to develop applications and tools that will address specific issues concerning the common good, the public, and everyday life," emphasized in her statements the President of the "Greece 2021" Committee, Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki, and handed over to the CEO of the HCAP, Grigoris Dimitriadis, the agreements and the transfer of the amount of 200 thousand euros.

"Today, we implement the final project of the "Greece 2021" Committee. It is our ultimate action. I am pleased because this last action concerns the future and the common good," added Mrs. Angelopoulos and pointed out that the quintessence of the Committee's philosophy consists of synergies and collaborations directed at the future.
