With this discussion, Hermes, the creation of the robotics team "Kourites", welcomed the President of the Committee "Greece 2021" at the Technical University of Crete. The humanoid robot answered all the questions asked to him, in a natural language while using movements, gestures, expressions, visual and physical contact.
Mrs. Gianna Aggelopoulou – Daskalaki congratulated the Dean, Mr. Evangelos Diamantopoulos, and the representatives of the group "Kourites," both for their work and for the awards they have received in Greece and internationally.
Mr. Diamantopoulos, during his speech, briefed the Committee delegation on the research taking place at the Technical University of Crete and the achievements of the Foundation and stated that he would be very happy and honored to participate in the projects that will take place for the bicentennial of the Greek Revolution. He also underlined the collaboration between the Technical University and the Municipality of Chania for the implementation of the proposal entitled "Innovative technologies for virtual navigation and highlighting of the monuments." The action aims to highlight the monuments of the Municipality with the aid of new technologies, such as interactive virtual tours and mapping projection. Through this collaboration, they achieved top-level pioneer work at the academic level.
Earlier, the Committee delegation met with the members of the TUCer (Technical University of Crete EcoRacing) team, consisted of students and research staff of the Technical University of Crete. They design and manufacture low-consumption and zero-pollution electric vehicles, which are considered the future in the automotive sector.
