Meeting of the President of the Committee "Greece 2021" with the President of the Republic

The President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, and the President of the Committee "Greece 2021" Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki met on Tuesday (22/12) at the Presidential Mansion.

During the meeting, the President of the Committee presented the Committee's work in detail in view of the commencement of the anniversary year. She also offered the President of the Republic the first commemorative collection of the Committee's Numismatic Programme, consisting of 14 coins of unique collectible value depicting milestone moments in Greek history.

After the meeting, the President of the Committee "Greece 2021" made the following statement:

"I was delighted to visit the President of the Republic, whom I updated on the work of the Committee "Greece 2021" in view of the 200th anniversary of the Revolution. A few days before the commencement of the anniversary year, I can say that we have already won several bets: participation, motivating thousands of citizens and institutions across the country, inducing global interest, involving Hellenism around the world.

Together, with our Committee's coordinating role, we have shaped a program of projects and events that honors our history while leaving a mark on the future. The same guidelines are used for the emblematic projects and events that the Committee itself will implement. I also updated the President of the Republic on them.

Finally, I offered the President a collection from the Committee's Numismatic Programme, a valuable collection of great sentimental value, which will help finance essential projects. I am sure that with everybody's cooperation, 2021 will be for us Greeks the year of confidence and pride.”
