Greece 2021" Committee delegation visits Thessaloniki

A "Greece 2021" Committee delegation led by its President, Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki, visited Thessaloniki on a two-day tour on Friday, May 14, and Saturday, May 15.
The Committee delegation met at the iconic "Villa Allatini" with Regional Governor of Central Macedonia, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, and discussed the noteworthy proposal submitted to the "Greece 2021" Committee by the Region for the commemoration of 200 years after the Revolution.

Later, the President and the Committee delegation met with Anthimos, Metropolitan Bishop of Thessaloniki.
During the visit, at the traditional café "Mitsos," the President of the Committee had the opportunity to talk with the female members of Parliament from Thessaloniki and representatives of the organization "Women Act," which steadily encourages women to claim leadership positions and to become actively involved in the public ground.

The extensive and inspiring program of 21 anniversary projects and events designed and implemented since the beginning of the year by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki was the focal point of the meeting that the Committee delegation held with the Rector of the University, Professor Nikolaos Papaioannou.

During the second day of the visit, the delegation held meetings with the Deputy Minister of the Interior, responsible for the Macedonia-Thrace affairs, the Mayor of Thessaloniki, and Mayors of the Municipalities of the Regional Unit of Thessaloniki.
