The President of the “Greece 2021” Committee visits Thessaloniki

"It is imperative for us not only to honor the historical memory but also to demonstrate with acts of solidarity that we recognize the conditions that prevail in our country now," stressed the President of the "Greece 2021" Committee from Thessaloniki, which she visited on the weekend of August 31 to September 1.

"As a National Committee, we cannot ignore the conditions and the circumstances," she said and pointed out that "(we too) altered things, added and removed, adapted." In this context, she cited the threefold "we honor memory with acts of solidarity - we respond to the tribulations and needs of society - we leave our mark on the future, we do nothing ephemeral that will last for a day and then perish."

During her visit to Thessaloniki, Mrs. Angelopoulos had a work meeting in the Municipality of Kalamaria regarding "The Hellenic Mosaic" project, which was encompassed in the "Antonis Tritsis" Program, received the Alumni Excellence Award of the Aristotle University, and was declared honorary President of the Greece and Israel Friendship Association, within the framework of the Association's commemorative events for the 200 years after the Greek Revolution.
