The anniversary projects and events carried out under the auspices or with the "Greece 2021" Committee's logo and included in the National Program of Anniversary Projects and Events continue through the first fortnight of October. Among them: lectures, conferences, publications, exhibitions, athletic and cultural infrastructure, student competitions and educational activities, music, and theater performances in Greece and abroad.
The projects and events of October 1 to 15 in detail:
• The Lassithi Plateau – "Course" of 200 years
A celebration that focuses on the Revolution and the 200 years that passed and shaped the local identity of the Lassithi Plateau and subsequently the nation's identity as a whole. With the emphasis on the positive points and achievements of the course of 200 years, it obtains knowledge and experience for the future and plans the next 200 years envisioning the sustainable tourism development of the Plateau. It is based on interviews and records from people of various age groups, documenting their local and personal Revolution. This material will be presented in the context of the Municipality's Festival, "Lassithi sets sails."

• Construction of the Sports and Cultural Center "Elias Mavromichalis" in Nea Styra
The company TOTAL EREN, supported by the companies ENVITEK and ENTEKKA, successfully constructed the Sports and Cultural Center "Elias Mavromichalis" in Nea Styra, Evia. The opening of the center is on October 2 at 17:00. The event titled "An epitome to the unrecognized heroes" was dedicated to the unrecognized heroes of 1821 who self-sacrificed for their homeland, as well as to the modern unrecognized heroes who, with solidarity and vigor, voluntarily transmit noble rivalry and ethos to our country’s youth.

• One Symbol - 200 Objects
The Non-Profit Organization Flag of Greece organizes a gallery exhibition entitled One Symbol - 200 Objects in Fira, Santorini. It is a collection of Centennial flags, posters, newspapers, engravings, postcards, toys, and paintings, sculptures, photographs, and ceramics by famous contemporary artists, which leave their unique mark on the history of the Greek Flag.

• Three-day-event in Mesogeia
Festive three-day-event (1-3 October) consisting of (a) a scientific conference, (b) a photography exhibition, (c) a wine-producing – wine tourism exhibition, (d) an educational program, and (e) a folk happening, focusing on the history, economy of the countryside in Paiania, the grape harvest and wine-making.

• Unveiling of the bust of the First Parliament President of Revolutionary Greece
Event honoring the unveiling of the bust of the First President of the Parliament of Revolutionary Greece, Nikolaos Renieris, on October 3 by the Municipality of Platanias.

• The Revolution of 1821: Hymn to Liberty
Α commemorative book that will immortalize the Bicentennial of the Independence of Greece in Brazil (1821-2021). It will be written by Greek and Brazilian intellectuals and artists who cooperate on the cultural exchange between the two countries. Although Brazil has a long intellectual tradition related to the culture and history of Ancient Greece, we still lack studies dealing with the history, general culture and language of Modern Greece. The book will fill this gap by presenting, in a pedagogical way and anchored in the insightful analysis of scholars from both countries, an overview of the historical and cultural landmarks that drew the nation's past and lay the foundations for building a future of achievements and challenges.

• Group photo exhibition "#My_Greece: Villages."
The exhibition "#My_Greece: Villages" is a photographic journey in the known and lesser-known villages of Greece that reveal the distinct character, true identity, and historical development of the country. The photographs were chosen among thousands of entries, following an open photography competition in the summer of 2019, to which amateur and professional photographers from all over Greece responded eagerly.

• Lecture by Professor Nikos Panos
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Center for the Study of Hellenic Culture of UCLA University is organizing an online speech by Professor Nikos Panos of Stony Brook University entitled "Slaying the Dragon: Byzantine Survivals in the Greek War of Independence." The event takes place on October 2, 2021, 8:00 pm, Greek-time, in collaboration with the research institute and museum Dumbarton Oaks (it belongs to Harvard University.) The Ambassador of Greece to the USA, Alexandra Papadopoulou, and the Director of Dumbarton Oaks, Tom Cummins, will introduce the speaker.

• Education, science and the Church during the Turkish occupation: the Peloponnese during the Modern Greek Enlightenment
Two-day scientific conference in Sparta (1-3 October) on the search for historical truth in the role of education and scientific progress during the Turkish occupation and their relationship with the Church. Particular emphasis was given to the geographical area of the Peloponnese, and the period from the mid-18th century to the declaration of the Greek Revolution, that is, the period that was later named Modern Greek Enlightenment or Modern Greek Renaissance.

• FANTASYFESTIVAL2K21 – Cultural Festival
Annual cultural festival with free entrance and Fantasy as its central theme. This year, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the declaration of the Revolution, the chosen theme was "REVOLUTION NOW!". The festival aims to:
- To promote the all-encompassing culture of Fantasy through literature, music, dance, theater, handicrafts, play, and visual arts.

• Chios during the national uprising of 1821
The Chios Bar Association organizes an event titled "CHIOS DURING THE NATIONAL REVOLUTION OF 1821" on October 1 to 3 in Chios. Among the speakers are the former President of the Republic Mr. P. Pavlopoulos, Professor N. Alivizatos, the former Mayor of Athens and State Member of Parliament, Mr. G. Kaminis, Mr. K. Mousouroulis, former Minister of Maritime Affairs, and Mr. Konstantinos Vratsanos, Mayor of the Heroic Island of Psara.

• Third Company Sports World Games
It is an international multi-sport event with approximately 7,000 participants from 45 countries. In particular, the opening ceremony of the event is scheduled to take place in the Panathenaic Stadium, where a parade of representative athletes from countries and companies will take place, and the event will conclude with the announcement of the opening of the Games by the President of the World Federation. • The forint, the wheat, and Garden Street
This event concerns the development and presentation of the Italian edition of the study "The forint, the wheat, and Garden Street. Greek Merchants in Livorno, 1750-1868" by the historian Despina Vlami. The book examines the history of the Greek-Orthodox merchant community of Livorno and the commercial/business activities of the Greeks who settled in the port city. The presentation of the book takes place during a relevant conference on October 8 in Livorno, Italy.

• The Greek merchants of Livorno and the Revolution of 1821
A scientific conference on October 8 and 9, dedicated entirely to the history of the Greek merchant community of Livorno. The conference will focus on the period of the significant development of the community, from the mid-18th to the mid-19th century, and will try to highlight the social/economic characteristics and progress of the city's Greek community. It will also examine the achievements of Greeks who left their mark on the history of the Greek community, the contribution of the Greek merchants of Livorno to the groundwork and growth of the revolutionary struggle, to the philhellenic movement of Tuscany, and the financial support to their compatriots. The conference is organized by Borgo dei Greci in collaboration with the University of Albi (France), the University of Pisa, and the Municipality of Livorno.

• Lecture organized by the "Eleftherios Venizelos" Chair entitled «Someone else's war: European and American Philhellenes in the Greek Revolution of 1821"
The annual lecture of the "Eleftherios Venizelos" Chair is dedicated to the 200th anniversary and has as its topic "Somebody else's war: European and American philhellenes in the Greek Revolution of the 1820s", by the historian Roderick Beaton, Emeritus Professor of Contemporary Greek and Byzantine History, Language and Literature of Adamantios Koraes chair at King's College London.

• Wooden embroidery
An art exhibition by Pepi Hatzidaki with wood-carved details from Greek costumes of the Period of the Greek Revolution and onward. The details are part of the collective tradition and an inspiration for the Greek culture's present and future.
The exhibition is organized by the Orthodox Academy of Crete and will be hosted at the Cultural Exhibitions Center in Heraklion, Crete, between October 10 and 30.

• "The Friendly Society and the contribution of Russia to the launch and successful outcome of the Greek National Revolution of 1821"
On October 16, the Greek-Russian Chamber of Commerce is planning an event titled "The Friendly Society and the contribution of Russia to the launch and successful outcome of the Greek National Revolution of 1821" in the Municipality of Oreokastro, Thessaloniki. The event includes presentations and a documentary on the establishment and role of the Friendly Society, the vital contribution of Greek shipowners and merchants to the establishment of the Greek National Urban Capital, and the onset of Greek Enlightenment. In the context of the event, awards will be handed out to student essays from the schools of Western Thessaloniki on the subject: "The contribution of the Friendly Society to the National Revolution of 1821."

• 'Les Combats des Grecs' - Papiers Peints, Philhellenic decorations in Italian Mansions
Photographic exhibition of printed wallpapers (peint papiers), which depict the Greek Revolution and belong to a private collection. The exhibition will be held by the Consulate General of Trieste, which was the first Consular Authority the free Greek state established in 1830. In collaboration with the Benaki Museum.
The exhibition will be housed at the Exhibition Hall "Magazzino 26" of the Municipality of Trieste from October 15 to November 9. Under the auspices of the "Greece 2021" Committee.
• Workshop entitled "Discovering the invisible heroines: Manto Mavrogeni"
The event aims to highlight the contribution of women to the establishment of modern Greece, starting with the influential women of the Revolution. The program will develop educational material to be used in activities venues and schools aided by the academic department of the organization ActionAid. The study of Manto Mavrogenous, the workshops' focus, will be a common ground for discussions on the stereotypes and prejudices women faced during these 200 years.

• Establishment of a Geological Museum and geo-paths in Syros
The project addresses the advancement of geotourism based on the geological capital through sustainable development, which will strengthen the region's economy.
This Municipality of Syros Ermoupolis project will run until the end of the year. Under the auspices of the "Greece 2021" Committee.
• Restoration of the Burial Monuments of the Church of St. Georgios in Ermoupolis
The burial monuments, testimonies of a glorious past and the economic prosperity of Syros, are masterpieces. They are located in the area of the Church of Agios Georgios and resemble an open-air museum.
This Municipality of Syros Ermoupolis project will run until the end of the year. Under the auspices of the "Greece 2021" Committee.
• Commemorative historical publication: "200 Years of National Rebirth. Amorgos, Struggle for Freedom and Education"
A luxury historical publication that will highlight the role of Amorgos in the historical environment of 1821. With the revolutionary years at its core, it covers several periods and various aspects of the area's history, with explicit references to the emblematic Greek School - Gymnasium, the Monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa, the heroic fighters, and teachers of the pre-revolutionary and revolutionary period. It includes unpublished material from the Collection of the Municipal Archives.
It is being published in mid-October by the Municipality of Amorgos. Under the auspices of the "Greece 2021" Committee.
• Illustrated fairytale about Amorgos during the Revolution
A children's book – illustrated fairytale about Amorgos in the Revolutionary period of 1821, aiming to educate our children on our country's great history. The island's history is seen through the eyes of our imagination and sensitivity.
It is being published in mid-October by the Municipality of Amorgos. Under the auspices of the "Greece 2021" Committee.
• Parliamentary institutions in post-Napoleonic Europe
The conference is entitled "Post-Napoleonic Europe Revolutions and parliamentary institutions: The case of Greece on the occasion of the bicentenary since the War of Independence (1821-2021)". The conference, co-organized by the Greek section of the International Commission for the History of Representative and Parliamentary Institutions (ICHRPI) and the Department of History and Archaeology and the Law School of the Kapodistrian University of Athens, will take place in Athens (20 - 23 October 2021) and has been placed under the auspices of the Presidency of the Hellenic Republic.

• Volos-Pelion. Children's Stories from The Years of the Revolution
With the company "HALYVOURGIA ELLADOS S.A.," as Committee Sponsor, Archaeologist – Guide, Dr. Yiota Pantou wrote a fiction book of six stories where the heroes are mainly children. The stories take place in Pelion and are created based on actual events right before the Revolution and the during the first days of the Struggle. The book aims to offer young readers an initial poignant approach to the Revolution and inspire them to familiarize themselves with the history of our country. The presentation will take place on October 19 in Milies, Pelion at 12.00. The book will be distributed for free until the end of the year.

• Greeks Born Free
Event organized by the "St. Paul" Greek-French School of Piraeus on three main pillars: Freedom, Intellect, Dynamism. The common focus is the timeless personality of Dionysios Solomos, who appears to converse with personalities from the different periods of Greek modern history, who embody the principles mentioned above. The event is based on a script containing texts from the Greek Revolution of 1821, student's work, and original theatrical acts inspired by Plutarch's "Parallel Lives." University representatives, artists, intellectuals, and music ensembles will participate and intervene while the school choir will accompany the event.

• Reasons for Germany in Greece after the economic crisis: a quantitative-critical assessment
Ioannis Saridakis gives a speech on the Reasons for Germany in Greece after the economic crisis: a quantitative-critical assessment that will take place on October 28. The speech belongs to a series of lectures on the history of the Greek state from 1821 to today and the role of Greek-German relations, organized by the Greek-German Business Association.

• The Italian Philhellenism of the 19th century
The Italian Philhellenism of the 19th century: a reappraisal to tribute the anniversary of Greek national celebrations (1821-2021). On March 25 and 26, 2020, Lecce, the capital of Salento and of "Magna Grecia" (southern Italy), will honor Greece on the occasion of the Greek celebrations of 200 years from the Greek Revolution (1821-2021). The Italian university, Università del Salento, situated at Lecce (Apulia, Italy), will tribute Greece by the organization of an international scientific conference aimed at offering a meaningful assessment of the Italian Philhellenism. The conference is organized by prof. Andrea Scardicchio of the Depart. of Humanistic Studies and by prof. Chrysa Damianaki of the Depart. of Fine Arts of the same university. The conference envisages to be under the aegis of the Istituto Ellenico di Studi Bizantini e Postbizantini di Venezia and the Foundation of Greek Culture (Trieste).

• "The many facets of Vostitsa"
An international conference for the 200th anniversary with participants from various scientific fields presenting and analyzing the circumstances, the secret & open diplomacy, the events during the Convention, and the subsequent developments. As a parallel event, the conference will place particular emphasis on the black raisin and its role in the area's economic growth.

• The Struggle's “different” weapons
An exhibition of traditional musical instruments accompanied by illuminating, educational, and artistic activities (seminars, lectures, concerts, etc.) aiming to highlight the role of music in the Revolution. Rigas' Thourios and the kleftika songs (songs of the fighters) were used as uplifting paeans in the struggles of the Greeks. The exhibition will run alongside more music workshops, lectures, educational activities for children, and concerts.

• The Life After Law School
The event is a series of podcasts with two speakers - presenters (Adam Marios Paschalidis & Oreozili - Maria Koutsoupia) who discuss with guests - graduates of a Law School who have followed a specific and unique professional path. They will question how they accomplished their personal, professional goals and their direction towards a successful career at a national or international level.

• New Indoor 3500-seat Athletic - Bioclimatic- Multipurpose Sports Center in the Municipality of N. Smyrni
It is a modern multipurpose building, which will meet all the requirements for saving energy by covering its individual energy needs. It will also house alternative electricity, heating, and cooling systems. The combination of energy sufficiency with the bioclimatic approach to the building systems will emphasize and showcase the efficiency of its functions not only for sports but also for social events of the Municipality.

• Spanish translations of the memoirs of the fighters of 1821
The project is implemented by CEBNCh/KVNKS - Centre for Byzantine, Modern Greek and Cypriot Studies, University of Granada, Spain. It concerns the publication of Spanish translations of the memoirs of twelve personalities who starred in the Revolution of 1821, with introductions and commentaries. The translations will be posted on the Centre for Byzantine, Modern Greek, and Cypriot Studies website. Like all the electronic versions of the Centre, they will be made available to the public with free access. The program's implementation will be carried out by professors of ancient and modern Greek philology (academics and non-academics). It will be available to the public at no cost. Presentation of the work of Anthimos Gazis by the Archpriest of the Holy Metropolis of Vienna.

• Commemorative Karagiozis show, 200 years since the Greek Revolution
This special show is accompanied by traditional instruments (santouri, lute, violin, oud). Shadow puppet Karagiozis represents the poor, impoverished, cunning Greek, a typical folk hero during the Turkish occupation. It is based on historical events of the time of the Greek Revolution. The staging of such a show is complicated, and therefore these performances are rarely produced. From October 17 to the end of the year in various regions of Central Macedonia.

• Kalamata 2021. Forum on diplomacy and international relations
Using P. Mavromichalis' letter "Warning to the European courts" as the pretext, the Municipality of Kalamata designates diplomacy as a central feature of Kalamata's new identity by organizing the international "Forum on Diplomacy and International Relations" on October 15-16, 2021, while celebrating at the same time the anniversary of the naval battle of Navarino on October 20. It will take place at the city's Municipal Cultural Center.
