Event for "The Greek Revolution. A Critical Dictionary"

The Greek War for Independence (1821–1830) is often missing from the discussions of the Age of Revolutions. However, the rebellion of the Greeks against Ottoman rule had enormously influenced its era and its resonance is felt throughout modern history. The Greeks inspired other people to abolish the oppression that developed as a reaction to the French Revolution.

In "The Greek Revolution. A Critical Dictionary," Paschalis Kitromilides and Konstantinos Tsoukalas bring together scholars who write about the many aspects of the Greek Revolution and place it within the revolutionary age.

Their book is the subject of a panel discussion organized on November 4 by Harvard University.
