Gianna Angelopoulos: "Some people break when faced with hardships. Other people, break records"

"Some people break when faced with hardships. Other people, break records." The President of the "Greece 2021" Committee, Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki, used these words to open her greeting at the award ceremony organized by the Hellenic Paralympic Committee on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities for the Greek Athletes who excelled at the "Tokyo 2020" Paralympic Games. "Your example is an inspiration for us all because, although "the wind was against you, you learned to sail through every wind," Gianna Angelopoulos emphasized.

The President of the "Greece 2021" Committee also referred to the anniversary of the 200 years after the Revolution of 1821. "When the pandemic broke out and caught the Committee at the beginning of the organizing effort, after the initial shock, we persisted and promised ourselves that we will succeed," she remarked and pointed out that "we saw this obstacle as a challenge we had to overcome and leave behind. We looked ahead and opened up new paths. Just like you do in the stadiums, but also in your daily lives."
