"Account reports in Greece are unfortunate; we tend to announce more than account for. We tend to begin something, advertise it and never inquire about its completion. Here we see the opposite", underlined Mr. Tassoulas in his greeting and added: "The "Greece 2021" Committee began its work in November 2019, responsibly and quietly, stating that the Committee will cooperate with the society and the intellectual arsenal of the country and will honor this unique anniversary of 200 years since the national uprising. Since then, we have had an unprecedented change of scenery, the pandemic that hit the whole world, but the Committee's work was not hindered; there was adaptability".

"The Hellenic Parliament feels the need to thank and congratulate the President of the Committee, the members of the Committee, the volunteers, the people who, despite the pandemic, honored the memory of '21 and left an important legacy", concluded the President of the Parliament and honored Mrs. Angelopoulos with the gold medal of the Parliament, which comes from commemorative events of 1821, the first seal of the Parliamentarian in 1823.

Presenting the report of the "Greece 2021" Committee, Mrs. Angelopoulos emphasized that "from the first moment of the committee's establishment with its objective being the coordination of projects and events for the 200 years after the revolution of 1821, we stated that our goal is not only to honor the History of modern Greece and the people who marked it but proclaim the anniversary as an opportunity to reflect on the next day," underlined Mrs. Angelopoulos and pointed out that everything was accomplished without any state funding.

The President of the "Greece 2021" Committee underlined its appeal to the society, which, in turn, submitted the proposals and the Committee's decision to finance projects and events of a developmental nature and an imprint on the future. In this context, she focused on the projects of the extension period, which were put into effect by utilizing the budget surplus that emerged at the end of the anniversary year, thanks to the sound management of the assets. The purchase of vehicles for the Hellenic Army General Staff and the Fire Service, the purchase of the new telescope at Skinakas, the funding of research on cardiovascular and stroke episodes in Astros, Kynouria, the job-searching platform for people on the autism spectrum, the Program "Data for the common good," and more. "These are projects of a developmental nature and a clear social impact, which tackle the areas of health, science, education, civil protection, culture, and more," added Mrs. Angelopoulos.
